Women’s History Month 2022

Books and other media in a library display with a graphic showing an artistic representation of a dark-haired, light-skinned woman

International Women’s Day is celebrated March 8th each year, and we have created a book display as part of the UF Libraries’ observance of Women’s History Month and the during the month of March.

Material selected from our collection for Women’s History Month show the diversity of Latin American and Caribbean women’s perspectives and experiences.

LACC has material of an autobiographical nature and scholarly resources, poetry and fiction as well as investigative reporting and research on historical and contemporary issues.

We also receive periodicals that regularly address women’s issues in Latin America and the Caribbean, including Caras y Caretas (Argentina) on display here.

LACC recently added several titles on trans women, in particular books published in Brazil (available in Portuguese). These books are an important addition to the UF Libraries’ holdings on LGBT+ topics, and complement existing titles in our collection related to trans, gay, lesbian, and other LGBT+ identities.
